Who is Josiah Bartlett?

     Josiah Bartlett was a signer of the Decloration of Independence, he was a signer for New Hampshire. Josiah was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts November 21, 1729 - May 19, 1795. Josiah studed the science of medicine, and physician in Kingston, New Hampshire. Josiah was elected as a member of the Colonial Legislature. In 1774-87 he signed the Decloration Of Independence for New Hampshire, he was the first to sign after John Hancock. He was the fourth son of Stephen Bartlett, whos ansestors came from england some time during the 17th century. In 1754 he married Mary Bartlett of Newton, New Hampshire, Josiah and Mary remainded a devoted couple intill her death July 14,1789.Josiah almost died in 1758 when he was attacked by a high fever, he saved his own life by drinking cider for many days which lowerd his fever dramaticly. Josiah then in the spring of 1735 contracted the disease throat distemper. He claimed he contracted the disease from a hog, which he had skinned and oppened and he dicovered the hog had died from TD ( throat distemper ).
